Surgical Techniques II/Lab Prerequisites: AHST 116, AHST 201. Corequisites: AHST 202, AHST 250, BIOL 170.A continuation of AHST 116, this course presents a study of basic patient care and advocacy in the peri-operative setting as performed by the surgical technologist. It emphasizes medical terminology, pharmacological and anesthesia applications, environmental and workplace safety, basic math, weights and measurements, robotics, electricity, and physics, syringes/hypodermic needles, and sterilization methods. In addition, students will present a PowerPoint presentation on a surgical procedure. |
