College Chemistry I

Prerequisite: appropriate placement test score in math or grade of "C" or better in M 095; and one year of high school chemistry with grade of "C" or better or grade of "C" or better in CHMY 121; or chemistry department consent.Intended for science majors, this is the first of a two-semester course sequence of the general principles of modern chemistry, emphasizing the experimental nature of the science of chemistry and a more mathematical intensive approach, with emphasis on critical and analytical thought. Topics covered include stoichiometry, atomic structure, bonding, states of matter, and chemical reactivity. Laboratory included.
