General Physics II Prerequisites: M 172, PHSX 210.This is the second semester of a two-semester calculus-based sequence for engineering, physics, computer science, and mathematics majors. The mathematical study, using methods of differential and integral calculus, of electricity and magnetism, including forces, fields, and energy, induction, and AC and DC circuits; light, geometric and wave optics and optical devices; and selected topics from modern physics including special relativity, atomic physics, and an introduction to quantum physics such as the Bohr model of the atom, matter/electron waves, deBroglie wavelength, Heisenberg uncertainty principle, wave particle duality, and Schrodinger's equation. Laboratory work is included. |
